Group Tours

Groups of all ages will learn about the Lee family and the role this home played during the Civil War.

Civil War Van Tour, Submarines, Infernal Machines & Torpedoes

June 16, 2018 - 8 am - 4 pm

The Civil War witnessed the successful deployment of many new inventions including the telegraph, balloons, mines, and submarines. Learn about the technology that foreshadowed warfare in the twentieth century. Tour stops include Lee Hall Mansion, Yorktown, City Point, Deep Bottom, Fort Harrison, and other sites.

Bring a bag lunch, drink, and small cooler. You will be walking a lot often over uneven terrain. Wear comfortable walking shoes. The tour leaves from Lee Hall Mansion. Plan to arrive at least 20 minutes before departure time.

Space is limited so advance registration is required. Payment is due no later than 2 weeks before the tour and guarantees your reservation. No refunds if canceled 1 week before the tour.
