Group Tours

Groups of all ages will learn about the Lee family and the role this home played during the Civil War.

Civil War Van Tour, Virginia Land & Naval Forces

May 19, 2018 - 9 am - 3 pm

In April 1861, Colonel Robert E. Lee resigned his commission and a few days later accepted command of the Virginia Land and Naval Forces. This tour examines the early efforts by Lee and others to defend the Commonwealth. The tour includes visits to Fort Monroe, Hampton, Fort Boykin, Gloucester Point and Jamestown.

Bring a bag lunch, drink, and small cooler. You will be walking a lot often over uneven terrain. Wear comfortable walking shoes. The tour leaves from Lee Hall Mansion. Plan to arrive at least 20 minutes before departure time.

Space is limited so advance registration is required. Payment is due no later than 2 weeks before the tour and guarantees your reservation. No refunds if canceled 1 week before the tour.
